The discussion is a bit long and winding and the English is not perfect but the arguments are very clearly, adequately and convincingly expressed, "a rose by any other name..." is an apt analogy; propose whatever theory of political or economic science you will, analyze it or justify it however you wish, compare him however favorably with Stalin or Mussolini or anybody else you want, the man is a dictator by whatever reasonable test or definition you may wish to employ. Never mind "collective leadership" or any other such rationalization (hogwash, I would say), the personality cult is pervasive and the man's word is the final test of acceptability in Cuba's post-1959 political discourse and that is the truest, most accurate test of dictatorship that I can think of... In classical political theory they used a different term, "tyrant", which was not then as politically loaded as it is today, but the idea was the same: a single man --however subtly or forcefully, however openly or seemingly discreetly-- bending an entire nation to his will without any meaningful political counterbalances. Fidel Castro a dictator? Surely you jest! Gimme a break... Is the Pope Catholic? Is the sky blue? For crying out loud, accept the obvious and call it what it is!
