Very expensive vintage math books
Expensive Math Books
Maybe its just me but Math books are extraordinarily expensive! Many good books like Rudin’s Real and Complex Analysis are price at about 159 dollars. I assume there must be a reason for them to be so expensive other than publishers greed!
I am hoping that electronic editions of math book that can be read with electronic readers like iRex Iliad or other electronic readers will be more accessible and almost free!
But that book definitely does not have the record of being one of the most expensive math book ever.
The title holder for the most expensive math book ever is probably the Archimedes Palimpsest. The current owner paid about 2 million dollars. I do believe that was money well spend.
Not on the same league but still very pricey is the Oliver Byrne’s Edition of Euclid this edition of the elements of Euclid can be bough for a price ranging from 5000 to about 7000 dollars! That is definetely one expensive math book.
if you hurry you can still get copies of the pricey Oliver Byrne’s Edition of Euclid at
